Sam Colavecchio - Landesberg Design

Sam comes to Landesberg Design from Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Design; she also has a BA in Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining LD, Sam had experience working with Pittsburgh-area nonprofits: designing educational and marketing communications for The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion at CMU, and supporting Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery (POWER) in both client-facing and communications roles. Sam’s design approach balances conscientious research and thoughtful decision making with curious, unexpected, and joyful typographic solutions.

Early fascination with design?

Rookie Magazine, a digital magazine for teenage girls, captured girlhood and all of its complexities in such an honest and delightful way. I wish it were still around.

What is something you are insanely curious about?

I’ve always been excited by outer space. My big dream as a kid was to work for NASA.
